Nutrients Task Force (NTF)

The Nutrients Task Force (NTF) was established to support a collaborative approach to addressing evolving nutrient regulations and water quality challenges in Colorado. The Task Force provides a forum for wastewater utilities, regulators, industries, researchers, and other stakeholders to share information, discuss emerging issues, and develop practical, science-based solutions related to nutrient management.

Our Purpose

The Nutrients Task Force works to improve understanding of nutrient-related water quality issues and support the development of scientifically sound approaches to nutrient management and regulation. The task force facilitates collaboration among stakeholders, promotes the sharing of monitoring data and technical information, and evaluates tools and strategies that can help address nutrient challenges.

CMF Nutrients Workshop

A key initiative of the NTF is the annual CMF Nutrient Workshop, which brings together stakeholders from across the water quality community to exchange knowledge, explore innovative approaches, and discuss progress toward effective nutrient management. The Task Force also evaluates strategies and tools that support scientifically sound nutrient regulations, including adaptive management, nutrient trading and offsets, preferential nutrient control, bioconfirmation, and water-quality-based effluent limit methodologies.
